Woohoo Coca Cola World!!! And we tried all 64 flavors from around the world. Some are really nasty like you wouldn't believe.

Hanging out @ the High Museum of Art to see the Terracotta Warriors. Sadly, no photography was allowed but it was awesome except that we parked like a mile away & we're hungry. Note: Jesse need a map of GA.

Good bye Atlanta...California here I come!

They put a swamp cracker aka marshmallow on the gator's head...lol!

We caught a albino gator! Okay...no we didn't. The guy had it already at the shop but it's real!

Sadly we did not see Swamp thing but we saw many gators in the swamp and marsh tour on an airboat...that was so cool!
I don't understand the deal with Krystal's hair... I'm so glad I'm a guy!
My hair is LOVING this humity! My hair never felt so silky and straight AND becuz its like 75 degrees here, it dries naturally in no time! Time to go!

French Quarter

Crossing the Mississippi River - Peace!

Jesse was lonely...

This pigeon had a skull on the back of its head!!!

Crashing a bit early tonight. Had a busy day. More to do tomorrow.
We're calculating costs of our trip while sitting here at Houston's... We're pretty much incurred 1/3 of our costs just by being here. $85.86 Yikes!!!
The food was great! On to the French Quarter walking tour!

We are having Poboy and Gumbo for brunch at Lazy Fish at New Orleans French Quarter. Can't wait b/c I'm starving!!! Service is great.
We slept in late this morning! Got up around 9. The colors woke us up a bit and then the alarm clock was stupid and kept us awake! But it was still good sleep!

$@%&! We missed Heroes, House, and Chuck! @#$! Darn the EST! We lost 2 hours!

Yeehaw! Welcome to Texas

Up at 7ish and out on the road again to get to Dallas, TX. Majorly long drive and very windy. We thought we put in our long trip today a visit to 24 hour fitness to work off all the burgers we have been consuming these pass 3 days. But we got lost. We availed though and found the 24 that is on the 10th floor of some office building in downtown Dallas where the parking structure only has 5 floors yet the sign park on level 10...yeah...if this confused you imagining living it. Felt good to finally move our legs instead of sitting the whole 14 hour straight drive. But this trip could have came to its end if Jesse didn't lucky cuz he almost lost his wallet in the gym. Omg! I was thinking this is not good because 1) Jesse would be down $200 2) 3 credit cards 3) military id and the big 4) I would have to drive the rest of the way which be about over 5 hours...thank good.

So we're on the road again in hopes to beat the rain storm that apparently is going to settle right over New Orleans...let's see if Jesse's luck could shift the storm a little bit...
Jesse wonders why there's so many Arby's stores...Krystal's response, HELLO we're in Texas thus the hat! Lol!

Jesse now has access to this blog! Yea! Now I'm going to sleep!

A place called Enid, Oklahoma

So we made it! Man, it was on hell of a long ride. Non-stop except for lunch because we pass another time zone so we're in Central time which made breakfast lunch real fast. We're almost to Enid when I took like  another 10 minute nap and Jesse turned onto a road in the back roads of Oklahoma!!! We ended up in some town called Thomas which his friend, Chad, could not find on the map until you Googled it. But with some female guidance, we made it to Chad's place by 5. Had dinner at Freddy's Steakburgers which is really good for such a small town and had a blast meeting the Bridgeford family with the adorable addition, Anna!

Sleepy time at the Vance Cherokee Lodge. Tomorrow is a long day to make our way to New Orleans. Woohoo!

Oklahoma Here We Come!

So last night I forgot that we passed thru into the Mountain time zone so really it was 12:30 when I hit the sack. Man! I hoped to get more shut eye than last night. Anywho got up @ 6:30 and got to mail my postcards so got on the road by 7:30. There's nothing here in New Mexico. Alburquerque is probably the last major city before or destination of Enid, OK. We'll be passing thru Texas and that's where we lose another hour as we get into Central time. So I've been sleeping to catch up on some sleep and waking up I ask Jesse, "So where are we?" His response, "No clue but this is what it looks like the whole time you've been sleeping." There's no mountains just flat land with dried grass and remnance of snow. We still have about 400 miles lefted to go as I write this email...where the next rest stop?

The adventure continues...

Finally got to Kirkland Airforce Base Inn. Showered now time to hit the bed. It's 11:30 already?! Drive time today = 14hrs. Same tomorrow...yeah...
Victory is ours! We made it into the Petrified forest w/ 13min to spare for free! Where are all the trees?
Success! Got to see the Grand Canyon. Stopped for gas in Flagstaff. Need a potty break too. Petrified Forest here we come!
Jesse is having a bad case of road rage, to the pt where I'm just gonna take a nap & hope we get there in 1 piece. Lol!

Cactar!

For any Final Fantasy gamers...look...a moving , live Cactar. Cactur showed up (Jesse's theory) becuz Jesse cut off 30 people at the stoplight to get onto the 15S fwy.

Highlight in Vegas

Nothing like In-n-Out for dinner but that's the last time for Jesse unless I ship one to him. Also found Humpdy Dumpdy while waiting in line @ the BlueMan Group show. Awesome!
Jesse and Krystal tired to do a shortcut to bypass the 15 traffic but failed. Total U-turns = 3. Now we're back in the 15 traffic. Time that we would have saved 20 mins. Time saved = -5.
So does this work?

Intro

How It Started:

My buddy, Jesse, joined the Navy and is getting stationed in Athens, GA...and he was crazy enough to want his car there with him. So, he came up with the wacky idea of driving across America with his whole life packed into his Toyota Rav4. Well, Jesse and I have done smaller road trips in the past but not one that is this long and far! So he asked me, like he usually does, am I crazy enough to take off from my cave at work and hit the road? Yup! Didn't take too much convincing me because I'm usually the one down to do stuff like that but it took some timing, rescheduling with the Navy, and accruing for me at work to get to where we are today.

The Mission:

Leave Friday late afternoon, the 27th, from California and be in Georgia next Friday, on the 3rd, while hitting as much states as possible as well as see cool things along the way.

So if you haven't been on a road trip from the West Coast to the East Coast. Come along and any help you can Google for us or suggestions for things to do - TEXT ME! For all we know, we can end up in South America!
